“There are songs on this album that I wrote when I was 15 years old. Most of those are songs that I wrote about missing home and my family, and then there are some about my past crushes or having an early infactuations with someone. But I feel like all of my newer stuff shows how I’ve grown up over the years. I added several songs to the album Bright Lights in the UK that I think really showcase who I am as a songwriter now. I have different things on my mind now. I guess I’m just quite observant and I pay attention to a lot of things. Human behavior really fascinates me. I’ve been pecking at the piano recently. Unfortunately, I can’t play, which is really frustrating, but I’ve been experimenting with different notes that sound interesting.”
